Their Matcha Melon-pan is soo tasty and smooth!
Came for the famed melonpan and also grabbed some icecream. The melonpan is to die for, crunchy outside and soft inside... Just how it should be.
It is true, the legendary melon pan is almost as big as a person's head! The bread is nice and warm and the crust has a bit of a crunch when you bite into it. The center is nice and airy. Simply delicious!!
Amazing Japanese melon pan and soft cream ice-cream! Didn't try the new flavored versions but worth lining up for if you are in the area.
I cry thinking of how delicious this was. Basically ate 2-3 of the basic ones a day for breakfast. So yummy!!!! I wish we had them in Europe!! And the lines were always super long, so I’m not the only one loving them. Try it for breakfast and stay satisfied for the rest of the day.
The sweet bread is quite a good product but it's sold at a pretty steep price.
This is such a delicious sweet bread! The crust is crispy and and warm when we ate it, like the HK boluobao. The crumbs drop everywhere and the birds came along to eat it from the ground. This is really worth the try for bread lovers.
One of the best branch of this awesome bakery. Giant melon pans by itself or with ice cream. Melon sodas are also good. Small tip, eat in, there's seats upstairs that plenty of people miss. A little room with a nice ambience.
Very delicious Japanese style bread, strongly recommend to come by earlier so that it won't be a long line. The bread is fresh baked with crispy skin. Top choice of dessert if you ever visited Asakusa.
Nice melon-pan here! It’s probably already recommended in any guidebooks.
The smell of this place got us. But it was tasty too. The only place that was opening up for fresh pastry
Famous sweet at Sensoji. Did not disappointed.
Meh. It wasn’t warm and it lacked flavor. Also, overpriced at 550 yen for one with vanilla ice cream.
As the hype goes, we went to check out this famous place. There were queues, but the wait was not too long. The fake melon buns for display helped our curiosity and allowed us to take a lot of photos as we wait for the real buns.We had the melon bun with green tea ice cream - it tasted really good! Highly recommended if you are in the vicinity and can afford to come.
The melon pang is very crispy & big! It's very delicious itself, so putting some ice cream inside is a good idea :) the queue might be long but they serve very fast & staff is friendly. It's not hard to find the place, since you will notice the queue. The price is ¥500 with ice cream (vanila or green tea).
Unusual desserts. Worth a try.
Delicious melonpan and huge kakigori nearby Asakusa temple.
We came here twice during our stay because we loved it so much. The first time we came before opening and got giant, beautifully fresh, and super soft melon-pan. The second time we came there was a line but it moved fast. If you order an ice cream melon-pan they'll make you sit inside, as I think you're not supposed to walk and eat in the temple area. The inside's cozy though, and has free tea.
Highly recommend coming to this place instead of the one closer to the south entrance of the temple because this place was practically empty for most of the morning. The bread is (probably) just as good, and the green tea ice cream filling was an irresponsible but awesome way to start the day as breakfast.
it taste great, crunchy bread with soft ice cream inside
We tried the Green Tea Melon Bread. Order at the counter next to the paper windmills and wait at the next counter for your food. The bun was sweet, light, and crispy, which goes well with the rich green tea ice cream. One of the better snacks around the area!
Some of the best matcha ice cream I’ve ever had! We enjoyed the ice cream cone and crispy bread melon-pan. Definitely recommend both.
Reality doesn't fail expectations. The ice cream sandwich is as big, as crunchy and as tasty as it looks in the picture/ sample. A must try if you're in the area! Pure matcha goodness!
Amazing little bakery. It is crisp on the top and fluffy soft on the inside. I chose green tea as filling and the combination was amazing. The bun is not oily to the touch and the sugar on top gives it a nice bite.
Mouth watering snack, perfect for a warm day. Crossaint like outer melon pan bread goes wonderfully well with the matcha ice cream soft serve.
Pineapple Bun! èŠ±æœˆå ‚ sells pretty nice bread, especially pineapple bun. The skin is very crispy and sweet. Remember let you stomach have a space for this nice bread while visiting the Senso-ji Temple. This shop is located in the vendor area. You can refer my picture or use google map to find this store.
Amazing melon pan at an affordable price! Fun place to stop after touring around the Temple and market. Make sure that you have time though, the line can be very long.
It is ok, tastes the same as other places.
Yummyâ¤ï¸ Best bun everðŸ‘
First time trying melon pan. I don't see the big deal with it.
Bought food from outside, went inside to eat. Staff came to speak something with terrible English. I understood that both needs to order. I ordered, staff seemed to be not satisfied. Couldn't understand what was wrong. Went outside.
the best melonpan in Japan, try it....
Melonpan is delicious and a good price for a main tourist area. Try it and you will not be disappointed. It's fresh!
So good! Truly good melon pan!To eat upstairs you HAVE to buy a drink though
This melon bun thang is tha best! I tried the one near the Sensoji Temple (if you look via gmaps, search Asakusa Kagetsudo). Located in front of Naritaya Ramen Kiosk..I tried matcha flavor and it didn't fail me. I'll eat this bun over and over and over again..😂
My absolute favorite Melon Pan vendor! The Melon Pans are huge, right out from the oven and cost only 200 Yen. What more can you ask for? Maybe to stuff them and even that is possible!I bought several Melon Pans from Kagetsudo during my stay in Tokyo this January and this place offers the best deals! Don't miss out on it!
A snacks store near Sensoji Temple known for its melon bun. In Japan, melon bun has no melon in it. Instead, the melon bun is a term used to describe a half circle shape sweetened bun that is crispy on the outside and soft inside. Kagetsudo's definitely lives up to the expectation - the melon bun is perfectly baked - a simple but delicious treat. They also serve shaved ice with green tea / red bean. These are ok only - would stick with the Melon Bun. We ordered the plain original bun but some people opted for cream filling which looks appetizing as well
I heard that Asakusa Kagetudo was one of the oldest bakery shops, so I had to check it out. Their most popular item was the melonpan, which is a warm, and crispy sweet bread. I tried it for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. It’s definitely one of my favorite sweets in Japan.
One of the oldest bakery right next to SensÅji that serves one of THE best Melon Buns or "melon-pan" in Tokyo. It's the Japanese version of the Mexican Coffee bun: fluffy, round, not to sweet bread that attracts droves of people lining up for 30-40 minutes. I have never been one for lining up for food but this shop is an exception. I will definitely buy a box of 5 buns every time I am in the area!
This place is heaven. Sakura soft serve... I still yearn for it. If you're at the Senso-ji, visit here for a nice treat break.
Tried the melon pan at Asakusa @asakusa.kagetsudo.official Not an expert on this but it taste alright, can definitely give it a try if you happen to be there.#sg #food #eating #foodreview #simonlew #meat #seafood #dinner #lunch #drink #foodforlife #meal #japan #tokyo #holiday
Really good melon bun, queued about 5mins, worth every minute waited in the queue.
Best melon bread I’ve tried! So delicious
Tasted good you need try it!
Excellent place to visit just walking distance to or from the temple. The bread is delicious and the ice cream you can put in it makes it even sweater.
The best melonpan found near Sensoji Temple!! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and not too sweet. Would have been perfect with ice cream I’m sure but we tried the melon pan soda instead which tastes like melona bars in soda form.
Fantastic Melonpan! Incredibly fresh - got one straight out of the oven. You can have it plain, or with ice cream.
Melon bun, just like a normal polo bun in Hong Kong. Staff is friendly.
The melon pan is super crispy and sweet!
The melon pan is really good. My wife and I feel like this bakery does it the best. They're always fresh and still warm/hot which really enhances the taste.
